Privacy Policy
At Test DGT B Coche, we prioritise our users' privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data in the iOS app and in the Android app (Test Coche B). The differences on Android are set out in their own section.
Data Collection
Test DGT B Coche does not collect personal data such as your name, your email or your location. All information, including your study progress, statistics, streak, favourites, saved mistakes, settings and preferences, is stored locally on your device. The Android app has one exception: minimal usage analytics, described in "Android Version".
Offline Operation
The app works completely offline. All questions and images are bundled inside the app. It does not need an internet connection to be used and does not transmit your progress or settings to external servers. On Android there are three technical exceptions, described in their own section: purchases through Google Play, the occasional download of an image that isn't in the app, and usage analytics.
Local Storage
The following data is stored only on your device:
- Learning progress and SM-2 algorithm (SRS) statistics
- Test history and exam results
- Daily streak, unlocked achievements and favourites
- Mistakes saved for review
- Notification and reminder settings
- App preferences (theme, sounds, language, etc.)
Notifications
Notifications (daily reminder, streak at risk, exam reminders) are scheduled locally by your device's system. No notifications are sent from a server.
In-App Purchases
On iOS, purchases are handled through Apple's StoreKit. Apple handles payment processing, receipt storage and restores. We only receive confirmation that the purchase is valid. We have no access to your payment method or to any personal data from your Apple account.
Android Version
The Android app saves your progress and settings in its private local storage (Android SharedPreferences). We have no server that receives your progress or settings.
Android backup: if you have it turned on, the system may copy these preferences to your Google account backup and restore them when you reinstall the app or switch devices. This depends on your system backup settings.
Purchases: these are handled through Google Play Billing. Google Play processes payments and keeps the purchase records. The app receives purchase information (product identifiers, purchase tokens and their status) to activate and restore Pro, and keeps a local cache of your Pro access. We do not receive your card details.
Images: the question images are bundled with the app. If a required image is not available locally, the app may request it from our CDN over HTTPS. As with any network request, the CDN receives technical connection information, such as your IP address and the requested image. The app does not include your progress or settings in these requests.
Usage analytics: to see where people give up on the app and improve it, the Android app uses Firebase Analytics, a Google service. It sends it only these events: when you finish the introduction, when the Pro screen opens and when a Pro purchase starts, completes or fails (with the amount Google Play charges). The service itself also records basic usage data: the first open, the start of each session, the app and Android versions, the device model, the language, the approximate country and, if Google Play provides it, where the install came from (for example, an ad campaign). Your answers, study progress, settings, name, email and precise location are not sent. Collection of the advertising ID and ad personalisation are turned off. Firebase creates a random identifier for the installation, which is not linked to your Google account or your identity; a new one is created if you reinstall the app. Google processes this data on our behalf under its Privacy Policy; we only see aggregated figures.
Deleting data on Android: Settings → Data → Reset progress deletes your progress and study history, but does not revoke your purchase or delete all preferences. To remove all local data, clear the app's storage in Android settings or uninstall it. Backups are managed separately in your Android/Google settings.
Third-Party Services
The iOS app does not use analytics, advertising or any other third-party service that collects user data. The Android app uses no advertising and a single analytics service, Firebase Analytics (Google), described in "Android Version".
Data Deletion
You can delete all your data from Settings → Data → Reset progress inside the app. It is also deleted when you uninstall the app.
Legal Notice
Test DGT B Coche is an independent study app. It is not an official DGT app and is not approved by the DGT. Its only purpose is to help you practise for the B licence theory exam.
