This Privacy Policy applies to the Kotomaji iOS app, published by Quantum Quacks (referred to as "we", "us" or "our") and distributed through the Apple App Store.

2. Summary

Kotomaji for iOS does not collect, store, or share any personal data. There is no account and no sign-in, there is no advertising, and the app contains no analytics and no tracking of any kind. Your in-app data — such as favorites and settings — is stored only on your device and is never sent to us.

3. Data stored on your device

The following data is kept locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

• Your favorite phrases and kanji.
• App preferences (interface language, audio settings, preferred currency).
• Your reminder settings.
• Your Kotomaji Pro purchase status.

This data is removed when you delete the app.

4. No analytics and no tracking

Unlike the Android version, the iOS version of Kotomaji contains no analytics SDK whatsoever. We do not measure which features you use, we do not record the words you search for or the content you view, and we collect no technical or diagnostic data of our own.

We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), we run no advertising, and we use no measurement, attribution, or social-media tracking service. The app therefore never presents the App Tracking Transparency prompt — there is nothing to track. Nothing about you is sold or shared with data brokers.

5. Network use

The optional currency converter fetches up-to-date exchange rates from a public rates provider. These requests contain no personal data and are not tied to your identity. If you have no connection, the converter falls back to the most recent rates stored on your device. Everything else in the app — phrases, audio, kanji and tips — works fully offline. The only other use of the network is to complete in-app purchases through the App Store.

6. Purchases (Kotomaji Pro)

The optional Kotomaji Pro upgrade is processed by the Apple App Store. We never receive or store your payment details. Apple processes the entire transaction and only confirms to the app that a purchase is active, so it can be restored on your devices. Payment information is handled under Apple's privacy policy.

7. Notifications

If you turn them on, Kotomaji can send you the daily phrase, daily kanji and weekly tip reminders. These are scheduled locally on your device — they are not push notifications, we do not operate a notification server, and we never receive a device token. You can turn them off at any time in Settings.

8. Permissions

Kotomaji asks only for permission to send you notifications, and only if you enable the reminders described in section 7. The app does not access your contacts, camera, microphone, location, photos, or files.

9. Third-party services

On iOS we rely on a single third party:

We integrate no analytics providers, no advertising networks and no social media trackers, and we do not sell or share your data with data brokers.

10. Children

Kotomaji is suitable for all ages and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children. The app shows no advertising and collects no identifiers.

11. Your rights

Because the iOS app collects no personal data at all, we hold no information about you to access, correct, or delete. 12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect legal, technical, or service changes. The current version will always be published at this URL, with an updated "Last updated" date.
