Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the iOS app Kaeru, published by Quantum Quacks (hereinafter "we", "us" or "our").

2. Summary: Kaeru does not collect personal data

Kaeru is a currency converter. We do not collect, transmit or store personal data on our own servers or on any third-party servers. There are no user accounts, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. Everything the app saves resides solely on your device.

3. Data stored locally

Kaeru stores the following information exclusively on your device:

• Exchange-rate cache: the most recently downloaded exchange rates, to allow offline use. They are overwritten with each update.
• Conversion history: the conversions you make in the app, stored using SwiftData. They never leave your device.
• Favourites and preferences: your favourite currency pairs and app settings (default pair, decimal places, etc.), saved in the UserDefaults of the App Group shared with the widget and the Apple Watch app.

You can delete all this data by uninstalling the app.

4. Internet connection: exchange rates

To get up-to-date exchange rates, the app makes HTTP GET requests to the following public URLs:

• Primary: https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@fawazahmed0/currency-api@latest/v1/currencies/usd.json
• Fallback: https://latest.currency-api.pages.dev/v1/currencies/usd.json

These are standard GET requests. No personal data, user identifiers or device information are sent beyond what iOS includes in any network request (IP address and standard HTTP headers).

The widgets and the Apple Watch app only read the local cache and never make network calls of their own.

5. Third-party services

Kaeru only communicates with the exchange-rate providers mentioned above. We do not integrate:

• Analytics tools (Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.).
• Advertising networks.
• Tracking or attribution SDKs.
• Third-party crash reporting services.

Apple may collect aggregated usage and diagnostic data through the operating system if the user has enabled that option in iOS settings. See Apple's privacy policy for more information.

6. Children

Kaeru is not specifically directed at children under 13. Since we do not collect any personal data, there is no risk of processing children's data.

7. Your rights

Since we do not process personal data on our own servers, there is no personal information of yours that we can provide, rectify or erase. All data is on your device and you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect legal or technical changes. We will publish the current version at this URL and update the "Last updated" date.
