Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the iOS app Worldmarks, published by Quantum Quacks (hereinafter "we", "us" or "our").

2. Summary: Worldmarks does not collect personal data

Worldmarks is an app for recording the countries you've visited and the ones you want to visit, displaying them on an interactive 3D globe. We do not collect, transmit or store personal data on our own servers or on any third-party servers. There are no user accounts, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. Everything the app saves resides solely on your device (and, optionally, in your personal iCloud account).

3. Data stored locally

Worldmarks stores the following information exclusively on your device:

• Marked countries: the countries you've marked as visited, want to visit or other custom categories, stored using SwiftData.
• Custom markers: the marker categories you've created (a Pro feature).
• Preferences: the app's settings, saved in UserDefaults.

You can delete all this data by uninstalling the app.

4. iCloud sync

If you have iCloud turned on, your travel data syncs automatically across your Apple devices through your personal iCloud account. This sync is handled directly by the operating system and Apple; we have no access to your iCloud account or to the synced data. See Apple's privacy policy for more information about iCloud.

5. Internet connection

Worldmarks can work without a connection, because you can download the full map for offline use. When a connection is available, the app communicates only with the following Apple services:

• Apple MapKit: to render the 3D globe and the maps. Apple may receive standard technical data (IP address, HTTP headers) as part of these requests.
• iCloud: for the optional sync of your travel data across devices (see section 4).

No personal data, user identifiers or device information are sent to our own servers or to any third-party servers other than Apple's.

6. Third-party services

Worldmarks only uses Apple's own services (MapKit and iCloud). We do not integrate:

• Analytics tools (Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.).
• Advertising networks.
• Tracking or attribution SDKs.
• Third-party crash reporting services.

Apple may collect aggregated usage and diagnostic data through the operating system if the user has enabled that option in iOS settings. See Apple's privacy policy for more information.

7. Children

Worldmarks is not specifically directed at children under 13. Since we do not collect any personal data, there is no risk of processing children's data.

8. Your rights

Since we do not process personal data on our own servers, there is no personal information of yours that we can provide, rectify or erase. All data is on your device and you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect legal or technical changes. We will publish the current version at this URL and update the "Last updated" date.
