Does Dalmaji work offline?
Yes. Every phrase, audio file, Hangul School lesson, menu dish, tip and stamp is bundled inside the app, so it all works in airplane mode and on a plane over the Pacific. The one exception is the won converter, which refreshes exchange rates when you have a connection — and when you don't, it uses the last rates it downloaded, or the table shipped with the app.
Which devices does Dalmaji run on?
Dalmaji runs on iPhone with iOS 17.0 or later. There is no Android version, and no iPad or Apple Watch app.
Which languages does Dalmaji support?
Spanish and English — the interface and all of the content: phrases, lessons, dish descriptions and travel tips. The app follows your system language and you can change it in Settings inside the app.
The audio does not play — what can I check?
Check the silent switch on the side of your iPhone first, then the media volume: Dalmaji plays through the normal media channel, so a very low media volume can make it seem muted. Also check that Focus or Do Not Disturb is not silencing media. If one specific phrase stays silent while the rest play, write to us with the phrase and we will fix it.
What does Dalmaji Pro include? Is it a subscription?
It is not a subscription — Dalmaji Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase, and it never renews. It unlocks the rest of the content: all 340 phrases across the 13 categories, all 60 Menu Decoder dishes and all 12 guide sections with their 72 tips. The base price is $9.99, with a welcome offer of $4.99 during the first 48 hours after you first open the Pro screen; your local price is set by the App Store.
What stays free forever: the essentials and every emergency phrase in full, roughly 7 phrases in each of the other categories, the entire Hangul School (10 units, the 29 minimal pairs, the reading-speed trainer and the street-sign exam), all 115 Konglish words, the Kiosk Decoder, 25 of the 60 dishes, 6 of the 12 guide sections, all 30 stamps and the won converter.
I bought Pro but the content is locked
Open Settings › Restore purchases inside the app. Your purchase is tied to the Apple Account you bought it with, so after reinstalling or moving to a new iPhone a restore brings Pro back at no extra cost. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy, and write to us if it still does not come back.
Why is the app all in the polite form?
On purpose. Every phrase is written in the polite register (해요체) — the register you actually want with a shopkeeper, a taxi driver or hotel staff. Using casual speech with a stranger in Korea reads as rude, so the app simply does not offer it. Phrases where the line is subtle carry a short note on etiquette.
Are the exchange rates accurate?
The converter downloads a public exchange-rate file whenever you have a connection and keeps it for offline use, so the rates are the mid-market ones, not what a bank or a currency booth will actually give you. Treat them as a guide to what something costs, not as the price of the transaction.
Are the travel tips up to date?
The 72 tips cover the things that genuinely surprise first-time visitors — eSIMs and the apps that work there, transport cards, payments, etiquette, nightlife, day trips and emergencies — and we review them with every release. If something has changed on the ground, tell us and we will update it.

Privacy
Dalmaji has no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and collects no personal data. Your progress, favourites, stamps and settings stay on your iPhone. The full details — including how purchases and the exchange-rate lookup work — are in the privacy policy.
