About Dalmaji
In one line
Say it, read it, order it: Korean for your trip, offline.
Short description
Dalmaji is a Korean travel app for iPhone with 340 travel phrases with clear audio, Hangul in 30 minutes, a Menu Decoder for 60 dishes and a won converter. It works offline, in 12 languages, with no account, no ads and no subscription.
Long description
Most Korean apps teach the alphabet and stop there, and most travel phrasebooks never teach you to read. Dalmaji (달맞이, “going out to see the moon”) does both, for the ten days you are actually in Korea. It has 340 phrases in 13 travel situations, each with Hangul, official romanization, an easy reading and clear audio, always in the polite register a visitor is expected to use. Its “Hangul in 30 minutes” section takes a traveller through the 40-letter alphabet, a syllable table and a six-lesson crash course that ends with an exam built from 12 real street signs. A Menu Decoder explains 60 dishes and how to order them, 90 Konglish words turn Hangul into English you already know, a won converter works without signal, and a 72-tip guide covers what to know before and during the trip. The app is free to download, with a one-time Pro purchase and no subscription. It is the third travel-language app from Quantum Quacks, after Kotomaji (Japan) and Handarin (China).

Dalmaji launches on the App Store: Korean for travellers who want to read the menu, not just say hello
Quantum Quacks, an independent studio from Spain, has released Dalmaji, a Korean travel app for iPhone. Dalmaji combines a phrasebook of 340 travel phrases with a short course that teaches the Hangul alphabet in about 30 minutes, so visitors can both speak and read in Korea.
Each phrase comes with Hangul, official romanization, an easy reading and clear audio, in the polite register expected from a visitor. The app also includes a Menu Decoder for 60 Korean dishes, 90 Konglish loanwords, a won converter with 23 currencies and a 72-tip travel guide. Everything works offline, and the interface is available in 12 languages.
Dalmaji is free to download on the App Store for iPhone (iOS 17 or later), with an optional one-time Pro purchase and no subscription. An Android version is coming soon. Dalmaji follows Kotomaji (Japanese) and Handarin (Mandarin Chinese), the studio's earlier travel-language apps.
About Quantum Quacks
Quantum Quacks is an indie studio from Spain founded by Luis Sebastian Huerta. Its travel-language apps share one idea — the phrases you really need, and enough of the writing system to find your way: Kotomaji for Japan, Handarin for China and Dalmaji for Korea.
